HTC Is Developing A Snapdragon 855 Device

According to Kevin Kuo personal LinkedIn data from HTC senior radio frequency engineer, HTC has already started to build devices using Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.

And if the information is true, the new processor that Qualcomm expects to announce at the end of the year is the Snapdragon 855, which became the successor to the Snapdragon 845 announced at the end of last year. As for the network connection method, Snapdragon 855 is expected to still be based on the existing 4G LTE technology, so it will integrate the Snapdragon X24 data chip with the highest download speed of 2Gbps, and the processor itself will be built in the 7nm process.

In addition, in order to respond to the first wave of commercialization at the end of this year, and to start 5G network services in specific markets starting next year, Qualcomm expects to respond with Snapdragon X50 with independent 5G network data chip, and then will further develop the 5G network. The road data chip is integrated into the product, but the actual launch time is likely to be at the end of next year. In the past, HTC used the Snapdragon 835 processor with the Snapdragon X50 data chip to create a 5G mobile phone prototype. It was exhibited at the 5G Industry Development Alliance in Taiwan. At that time, the LAA technology actually showed a download speed of 809.58Mbps which is theoretically up to 1Gbps download speed.
