HTC will be launching few smartphones this year. It has already launched HTC U11 Eyes selfie-centric smartphone and the Desire 12 series of mid-range phones. Today, the Taiwanese company has announced the HTC U12+ as its first flagship phone of the year.
HTC U12+ Specs and Features
The HTC U12+ sports a Gorilla Glass 5 rear panel with the reflective Liquid Surface design. The IP68 certified U12+ comes in colors like Ceramic Black, Flame Red and Translucent Blue. The pressure-sensitive frame deliver better performance through Edge Sense 2.0 which brings features like double-tap and holding the phone apart from squeezing technique. A fingerprint reader resides on the back of the phone.
The 5.99-inch QHD+ screen carries support for 18:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 color gamut and HDR10 video playback. It is shielded by Gorilla Glass 5. The Snapdragon 845 and 6 GB of RAM are present under the hood of the 64 GB and 128 GB variants of the phone. The U12+ and the handset receives power from 3,500mAh battery. The handset is loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo and latest Sense UI.
The dual camera setup present on its back include 12-megapixel UltraPixel main sensor with OIS and 16-megapixel telephoto lens. A pair of 8-megapixel cameras are available for shooting selfies. The front camera also doubles up as face unlock feature. The handset lacks a 3.5mm audio jack.
HTC U12+ Variants and Pricing
The HTC U12+ with 64 GB storage and 6 GB of RAM is priced at $799 in the U.S. The higher model that is packed with 128 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM carries a price tag of $849.
