Huawei is known for launching the P-series of flagship phones in Q1 each year. Last year, the company announced the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro+ in March. Hence, it is likely that the brand could be planning to launch the Huawei P50 series around the same time this year. Today, reliable tipster Teme shared the key specifications of the upcoming Huawei P50 Pro and P50 Pro+ smartphones.
According to the tipster, the Huawei P50 and P50 Pro+ will be sporting a 6.67-inch (or 6.7-inch) display with quad curved edges. It will be a high-quality display that will deliver a refresh rate of 120Hz. To recollect, the P40 Pro and P40+ offered a refresh rate of 90Hz.
While the predecessor models came with dual punch-hole cutout, the successor editions are expected to come with a single punch-hole display design. The leak states that the new modes will arrive with support for new gestures. The P50 lineup will come loaded with EMU 11 based Android 11 OS, and not Harmony OS.
The Huawei P50 Pro and P50 Pro+ will draw power from the Kirin 9000 / Kirin 9000E chipset. For photography, these phones will flaunt Leica engineered quad/penta lens camera systems that will offer up to 200x Super Zoom. It appears that the company will make use of liquid lens on the P50 series only if it is ready for mass-production.
The P50 duo will be coming with powerful stereo speakers and they will be packed with 4,200mAh / 4,300mAh batteries. While the company tested 135W charging for the P50 models, these handsets are unlikely to feature it due to safety concerns. Instead, the leak suggests that these P50 phones could be coming with 66W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Huawei P50 Pro and P50 Pro+ are expected to flaunt glass / ceramic build. Both phones are likely to hit the markets in five color options. The leak claims that the P50 Pro / Pro+ will be sporting slimmer design. To recall, the P40 Pro measured 9mm in thickness.
