Huawei P50E debuts with Snapdragon 778G, 50MP triple-cameras & 66W fast-charging

Huawei Mobile has officially announced a new P50 series smartphone known as the Huawei P50E in the Chinese market that carries a more affordable starting price of just 4,088 Yuan (US$644) in it’s domestic market. The slightly lowered price naturally means that the phone will be coming with toned-down specs from the rest of the P50 devices.

On the rear side, the Huawei P50E greets us with the same Dual-Matrix camera layout which houses a triple-camera system lead by a 50 megapixels main camera. This will be aided by a 13 megapixels ultra-wide camera as well as a 12 megapixels telephoto unit that offers 5x optical zoom and up to 80x digital zoom.

Unlike the Huawei P50 and P50 Pro (Review) which are powered by a flagship Snapdragon 888+ chipset, the Huawei P50E settles with a more modest Snapdragon 778G silicon instead. It will also features 8GB RAM along with an option between 128GB/ 256GB storage in the memory department.

To keep it’s lights on, the Huawei P50E is backed by a respectable 4,100mAh battery which carries support for 66W Huawei SuperCharge charging solution. As usual, the phone will be shipped with the company’s proprietary HarmonyOS 2.0 based on Android 11 out of the box.

For those who’re interested, the Huawei P50E is available in four different colors such as Gold, Black, White and Blue. It’ll be priced at 4,088 Yuan (US$644) and 4,488 Yuan (US$707) respectively for it’s 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants.
