At the beginning of the year, iQOO announced the much anticipated iQOO 7 flagship which became the second smartphone in the world to be powered by the new Snapdragon 888 chipset and is currently the best performing flagship phone on AnTuTu.
Today, the company is back with another exciting smartphone known as the iQOO Neo5 which is priced at a slightly more affordable price point than the iQOO 7. Nonetheless, its still a competent alternative over some of the recently announced smartphones including the Redmi K40 and Motorola Edge S.
Starting with the front, the iQOO Neo5 features a 6.62” AMOLED display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution and a buttery smooth 120Hz screen refresh rate. On top of that, it also brings along other notable features like DHR10+ support, 1,300 nits peak brightness, as well as an impressive 6,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
Under the hood, the iQOO Neo5 is powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset which sits between the Snapdragon 865+ and Snapdragon 888 in terms of performance. It’ll be paired with up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 flash storage in the memory department.
For photography, the device relies on a versatile triple-camera setup consisting of a 64 megapixels primary shooter, 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera, as well as a 2 megapixels monochrome sensor. This will be rounded out by a 16 megapixels front-facing camera for selfie and video-calling purposes.
To keep its lights on, the iQOO Neo5 is backed by a respectable 4,400mAh battery with 66W flash-charging support. Connectivity-wise, it’ll be able to support GPS, GNSS, NFC, BeiDou, 5GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, as well as USB-C. Last but not the latest, the device is also shipped with OriginOS based on Android 11.
If you’re interested, the iQOO Neo5 is available in a trio of color options including Blue, Black and Orange. It’ll be priced at 2,499 Yuan (US$384), 2,699 Yuan (US$415) and 2,999 Yuan (US$461) respectively for its 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB variants.
