LG Velvet Moniker Officially Confirmed

Recent reports have revealed that LG will not be launching any G-series devices in future. Over the weekend, the South Korean company confirmed LG Velvet moniker for its upcoming smartphone. The G-series will be reportedly replaced by the LG Velvet lineup.

LG aims to distinguish the Velvet phone from other smartphones available in the market in terms of design as most mid-rangers available have similar specifications. The Velvet series will include mid-range phones with attractive design. The Velvet phone is expected to sport a raindrop camera design and a symmetrical appeal.

To let the people know the essence of the device, LG will move away from using alphanumeric names for its phones. The South Korean company did not reveal any details on the specs of the phone. It is speculated that it could be coming with the same specs that was supposed to arrive on the now cancelled LG G9 ThinQ phone.

Hence, it is speculated that the LG Velvet could be coming with a 6.7-inch or 6.9-inch display. The device could be driven by Snapdragon 765G chipset and it could be backed by a 4,000mAh battery. The rear-facing camera setup of the phone may feature a 48-megapixel main lens. The Android 10 OS will come preloaded on the device.

The LG Velvet may get announced on May 15. It could be arriving with a price tag of around $700. The alleged launch of the LG Velvet is few weeks away. Hence, LG is likely to release some vital information on the device before launch.
