Earlier this month, we have already heard that Meizu is currently prepping yet another smartphone which is slated to be announced next month. This smartphone dubbed as Meizu 16X is reported to be the long-rumored Meizu X8 which was leaked a couple of months back.

Today, Meizu’s CEO Jack Wong is back in action once again, revealing that the upcoming Meizu 16X will be featuring almost the same specs as the current Meizu 16 flagship including its front and rear cameras except for its SoC. For the Meizu 16X, it will be powered by a slightly watered-down Snapdragon 710 SoC instead of the higher performance Snapdragon 845 SoC found in the Meizu 16.
Nevertheless, Jack Wong had also previously boasted that the Meizu 16X will be better than the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE – which the device is obviously competing against. Furthermore, Chinese reports had also suggested that the Meizu 16X is expected to cost less than the current Mi 8 SE which provide the device a further competitive edge over the Mi 8 SE.
