Meizu’s Senior Vice President confirms no other flagship model this year

After hearing so much rumors on the unannounced Meizu MX7 for the past few weeks, Meizu’s SVP Jeffrey Yang has finally calmed the tide by revealing that there will be no other Meizu models for the rest of the year. He also added in his latest Weibo post that the next flagship model from the Chinese company will make its debut somewhere during Spring period next year which is likely to be the recently hyped up Meizu MX7.

For the past few years, Meizu had been unveiling a successor each year for their high-end MX series starting from the MX2 back in 2012 to the MX6 in 2016. Although the company doesn’t reveal by they chose to skip the MX7 this year, but we reckon it could be because the company plans to channel more of their resources and men hours to promote the sales of their latest Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus whose sales number had been underwhelmed by the likes of Xiaomi Mi6 and OPPO R11 according to reports.

Whatever it is, at least we’re now pretty certain that most of the leaks we’d seen earlier on are unlikely to be real.
