MetroTalk will soon be removed from Windows Phone store

MetroTalk will soon be removed from Windows Phone store Bad news for those who have been using the MetroTalk app for the past few months or even years. Today, Google has officially announced that they will be enforcing the terms of service of their Google Talk services and have already notified app developers that have made unauthorized use of the service. That being said, third party app developers including MetroTalk is no doubt  being affected by the enforcement. According to a developer from MetroTalk, they will be removing the app from the Windows Phone store on May 1, 2014 – around 6 months from now ( so maybe if you have no idea what it is, then you may want to download it and have a look before its gone )

“We are sad to announce that after a request by Google, MetroTalk will be removed from the Windows Phone store on May 1, 2014. We apologize to all our users for this but the decision is beyond our control, and in fact affects all third-party Google Voice apps. The good news is that the app will remain available and fully functional for 6 more months, and you can expect bug fix updates during that time. A huge thank you to all of our users for making us one of the top downloaded and highest rated apps of the Windows Phone store. Once again, we truly apologize to everyone affected by this.”

This of course, will affect many Windows Mobile users including myself. So let’s see if there is any alternative to MetroTalk!
