Moto Edge X with Snapdragon 898 Expected to Launch Soon

Motorola is soon going to announce its next flagship phone. Today, Chen Jin, who is Lenovo’s General Manager for Mobile Phone Business Department confirmed that the company will be soon unleashing the Moto Edge X smartphone. It appears that it could be one of the first phones to feature Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship mobile chipset, which is tentatively called the Snapdragon 898.

The poster released by Chen only confirms the Moto Edge X moniker. He has described the phone as indefinitely powerful and full of expectations. Unfortunately, he did not share any information on its specifications and features. It seems that the company will release some more teasers in the coming days to reveal the features of the mysterious Edge X.

Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that the Edge X will be equipped with the Snapdragon 898 chipset. Qualcomm has recently confirmed that it will be holding its next Tech Summit event on Nov. 30. Rumors are rife that the company will unleash the Snapdragon 898 chip at the event.

Recent reports have revealed that the Snapdragon 898 will be equipped with a 3.0GHz Cortex X2 prime core, three 2.5GHz Cortex-A710 cores, and four 1.79GHz Cortex-A510 cores. The SoC is also expected to include Adreno 730 graphics and Snapdragon X65 5G modem.

In related news, a Motorola phone with XT2175-2 has been spotted in the database of China’s 3C certification platform. The listing reveals that the 5G phone may tag along with a 33W fast charger. Last month, a variant of the same phone with model number XT2175-1 was approved by the Wi-Fi Alliance. It is likely that this device may break cover the Moto Edge X in China.
