Moto Z2 Moniker Alleged Confirmed by Reliable Leakster

Samsung has launched its Snapdragon 835 powered Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones. Even Sony has announced the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is the first commercial smartphone with SD 835 SoC. Now, other smartphone OEMs like Xiaomi, HTC, OnePlus and Motorola are expected to unveil their flagship phones. Motorola which is now owned by Lenovo is pegged to unveil a successor phone for last year’s flagship phone, the Moto Z.

The above tweet from the reliable leakster, Evan Blass suggests that the Moto Z (2017) will hit the markets as Moto Z2. Just as Moto Mods accessories support is the main feature of Moto Z (2016), its successor is also going to come with Moto Mods attachment pins on its rear panels. Motorola has confirmed that it will continue to work on Moto Mods projects for at least three years, which Moto Mods accessories built for Moto Z (2017) will also be usable on Moto Z2.

Rumors have it the Moto Z2 will not be exclusive to Verizon this year, but it will be also available through Sprint and other operators. Blass not revealed any details on the specs of the phone, but its rumors have revealed that it would be coming with 4 GB RAM, Android 7.1.1 Nougat and iris scanner.
