Motorola is working on the global launch of the Motorola Edge 30 Pro. The handset recently appeared with the X2201-1 model number in the database of the Bluetooth SIG certification site. The listing has a variant of the same phone with XT2201-2 model number and Motorola Edge X30 moniker. Hence, it is quite evident that the Edge X30 that debuted in China in December 2021 will be rebranded as the Motorola Edge 30 Pro in global markets. Reliable tipster Evan Blass has shared new renders of the Edge 30 Pro to showcase its stylus and folio case.
Last month, XDA Developers shared schematics of a folio case designed for the Edge 30 Pro flagship. What Blass has shared today is a press render of the same case. As can be seen in the render. The publication had reported that the folio case will house a Bluetooth-enabled stylus named Motorola Smart Stylus.
The Smart Stylus will be an advanced device as compared to the regular one that ships with the Moto G Stylus 2022 mid-range smartphone. The Smart Stylus is expected to carry support for features like wireless charging and air gestures. It can even function as an air mouse while using the phone with an external display.
The folio case is expected to store the Smart Stylus on its rear. When the stylus is not in its compartment for a longer period, the phone will alert the user. When the stylus is in the case, it will charge automatically, probably, through the phone’s battery.
What can be seen in the image (on the right) appears to be the front side of the folio case. It has a vertical strip of display with Always-On functionality at the middle, which shows information such as time, date, and notifications. When there is an incoming call, the display strip shows the option accept or reject it. Reports have claimed that the Edge 30 Pro will launch in India and global markets later this month. Probably, the folio case will be also announced at its unveiling event.
