Motorola Edge S Launched with Snapdragon 870 & 64MP Triple-camera Setup

As scheduled, Motorola has officially announced the company’s latest flagship in the Chinese market known as the Motorola Edge S. What’s interesting is that the Motorola Edge S is actually the first smartphone to feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset out of the box.

Starting with the front, the Motorola Edge S is built around a 6.7-inches FHD+ IPS LCD display that offers a smooth 90Hz screen refresh rate and carries support for HDR10 contents. Upfront, its also blessed with a dual-selfie cameras which include a 16 megapixels primary shooter as well as a secondary snapper for ultra-wide.

Over at the back, the Motorola Edge S arrives with a squarish camera island similar just like the the Motorola G 5G. There will be a total of four sensors at the back consisting of a 64 megapixels main camera, 16 megapixels ultra-wide camera, 2 megapixels depth sensor, as well as a ToF sensor.

Under the hood, its Snapdragon 870 chipset is capable of supporting both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes. In terms of performance, it sits between the Snapdragon 865+ and the flagship Snapdragon 888 chip. It will be paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department.

Keeping its lights on will be a massive 5,000mAh battery which carries support for 20W fast-charging. Other than that, it also brings along a 3.5mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

For those who’re interested, the Motorola Edge S is available in both Blue and Silver colorways. It will be priced at 1,999 Yuan (US$309), 2,399 Yuan (US$371) and 2,799 Yuan (US$433) respectively for its 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB models.
