Last week, reliable tipster Evan Blass had revealed that Motorola will be launching a smartphone called Motorola Edge+. He did not share any details on the specifications of the device. The handset is expected to arrive with a punch-hole screen, and it will be available through Verizon in the U.S. The smartphone has cropped up on Geekbench. The listing reveals that it will be a flagship phone.
The Geekbench listing states the name of the device has Motorola Edge Plus. It does not directly reveal the name of the processor. However, there are couple of evidences in the listing which suggests that it will be the next flagship smartphone from the company. The Moto Z2 Force unveiled in 2017 was the last flagship phone from the company. With the Motorola Edge+, it will be again entering the flagship market starting from this year.
The Motorola Edge+ is powered by a Qualcomm octa-core processor that offers a base frequency of 1.80GHz. The handset has scored 4,106 and 12,823, respectively in the single-core and multi-core tests of the benchmarking platform. The high scores on Geekbench and 1.80GHz base speed indicates that the Motorola Edge+ has Snapdragon 865 mobile platform onboard.
The Edge+ listing on Geekbench further states that it is preinstalled with Android 10 OS. The SD865 chipset is coupled with 12 GB of RAM. The other specifications of the phone are expected to surface through newer leaks.
Motorola has organized a press conference on Feb. 23. The event will be used to unveil a flagship phone. Hence, it appears that the Motorola Edge+ may go official at the event. There are some rumors of other Motorola devices such as Motorola Razr 5G, Moto G8, Moto G8 Power and a mysterious phone with stylus. It remains to be seen whether Motorola also unveils these devices on Feb. 23.
