In November 2019, Motorola announced the Motorola Razr clamshell foldable phone. It is renewed version of the original Razr phone from yesteryear that comes with an impressive foldable phone. The smartphone will be soon heading to different markets in the coming weeks. Recently, the company had teased the retail box of the Motorola Razr on Weibo which indicated that it will be made available in China in near future. China based Blog of Mobile has reported that the country will be launching the 5G version of Motorola Razr.
The report reveals that the Lenovo owned company will showcase the Motorola Razr 5G edition at the Wuhan International Expo Center 2020 in March. The device will be manufactured at its factory in Wuhan city.
The Snapdragon 710 chipset powers the Motorola Razr phone. However, its 5G edition is expected to sport a 5G-ready SoC. It remains to be seen whether the 5G version of Razr will be driven by Snapdragon 765G or Dimensity chipset. Motorola has recently used Exynos chipset from Samsung for its smartphone. Hence, there is a possibility that the Motorola Razr could be coming with Exynos 980 chipset. It is advisable to wait for further reports to know the specs of Motorola Razr 5G.
The regular Motorola Razr is expected to release in markets like the U.S., the U.K, Canada, India, Australia, Africa, the Middle East and some European markets. In the U.S., the pre-orders of the Motorola Razr will kick off from Jan. 26 and its shipments will start on Feb. 6. In the U.K, carrier EE has already started receiving pre-orders of the Motorola Razr.
