Motorola revived the yesteryear Razr flip phone by launching the new Motorola Razr with foldable display in November 2019. The initial delay in making the phone available for purchase and the COVID-19 outbreak may have hampered the sales of the device. Considering the fact that it features a 2018 chipset, a small battery, and a mediocre camera, it commands an expensive price tag. A recent leak had revealed that Motorola is working on a new flip phone with a bendable screen. Fresh information shared by XDA Developers states suggests that it could be the successor of the Razr 2019. The publication has also spilled some of the keys of the Motorola Razr 2.
The Motorola Razr is powered by Snapdragon 710 chipset. The successor model is tipped to feature the Snapdragon 765G. Hence, the Razr 2 will arrive with support for 5G connectivity. The device is expected to house a 2,845mAh battery.
The SoC of the device could be coupled with 8 GB of RAM. The phone may offer users with an internal storage of 256 GB. The device is expected to come with bumped up cameras.
The Motorola Razr 2 may sport a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1 sensor as the main camera. It has a front-facing camera of 20-megapixel. The Android 10 OS will come preinstalled on the device.
It is speculated that the device may launch in September, but the new report has no information on its arrival timeframe. It is said that the device is being built targeting users in China and North America.
