Motorola RAZR debuted in November last year as the renewed version of the yesterday RAZR flip phone. The new clamshell device came with a foldable display. Recent reports have revealed that the Lenovo-owned company is working on a successor model. The moniker of the device is under wraps, but the rumor mill is calling it as Motorola RAZR 2. It is expected at some point around September this year. A recent report on XDA Developers had revealed the key specs of the upcoming RAZR 2. However, the leak did not reveal anything about its screen. Fresh information reveals that the RAZR 2 will not only come with a larger inner screen, but also the size of its outer screen will be increased.
The P-OLED screen of the original Motorola RAZR 2 measures 6.2 inches and it offers a 21:9 aspect ratio. The size of its second screen is 2.7-inch. According to Ross Young who is the CEO at Display Supply China Consultants (DSCC), the Motorola RAZR 2 will be coming with a 6.7-inch display. He did not share the size of the external display but reveal its size will also increase.
Past reports have revealed that the model number of the Motorola RAZR 2 is XT2071-4 and it is codenamed as Smith. The device is rumored to feature Snapdragon 765G SoC. Hence, the RAZR 2 will come with support for sub-6Hz 5G frequency bands. The original Motorola RAZR disappointed fans as it came with an obsolete Snapdragon 710 SoC.
The Android 10 OS will come preinstalled on the device. It will have a selfie camera of 20-megapixel. It will flaunt the Samsung GM1 48-megapixel lens on the rear side as the primary camera.
The SD765G powered RAZR 2is expected to arrive with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of built-in storage. The device is likely to backed by a 2,845mAh battery.
