Motorola and OnePlus have recently cancelled their launch events that were supposed to take place in China. While OnePlus was supposed to announce the OnePlus Ace Pro, a rebranded version of the OnePlus 10T 5G, on Aug. 3, Motorola was scheduled to announce the Moto Razr 2022, Moto X30 Pro, and Moto S30 Pro on Aug. 2. Both brands haven’t released a reason why they chose to cancel their launch events. New information suggests both launch events will be held in the next week.
The Motorola Razr 2022 was supposed to debut as the world’s first Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 powered clamshell phone on Aug. 2. It appears that Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 (or the Galaxy Flip 4), launching on Aug. 10, will become the first-ever SD8+G1 clamshell phone. However, the Razr 2022 may go on sale before the Flip 4, which is expected to be available for purchase by the end of this month. Continue reading to find out why.
Today, Lenovo Group’s General Manager for Mobile Division Business released a new teaser of the Razr 2022. It mentions the date as Aug. 11 and the time as 2 pm. Hence, it appears that the Razr 2022 may go official at 2 pm (local time) on Aug. 11 in China. It is speculated that there will not be any pre-order period and the device will be available for purchase soon after the launch event. Like before, the X30 Pro and S30 Pro phones are also expected to break cover at the same time.
The reservation listings for the Razr 2022 and X30 Pro are now live on JD.com. Both listings suggest that these devices will be available for purchase by the evening of Aug. 11.
As far as the OnePlus Ace Pro is concerned, it is now being said that it will be made official on Aug. 9 in China.
