Mysterious Realme Phone with Dimensity 1080 in Works

Realme is expected to soon announce the Realme 10 series of smartphones in different markets. A new leak courtesy of Mukul Sharma (aka. Stufflistings) reveals that Realme is working on a phone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor for the Indian market. The tipster has not revealed the marketing name of the device. Hence, it is unclear whether it will be a Realme 10 or GT series phone.

Sharma claims that the Realme phone with Dimensity 1080 will be released in India. Hence, it is unclear which other markets will be receiving the mysterious device.

In February 2022, Realme released the Realme 9 Pro 5G featuring the Snapdragon 695 and the Realme 9 Pro+ 5G equipped with the Dimensity 920. The newly unveiled Dimensity 1080 chip is an upgraded version of the Dimensity 920. Hence, it is likely that the Realme 10 Pro+ 5G could be equipped with the Dimensity 1080 chip.

The Narzo 50 Pro 5G, which went official earlier this year, is the other Dimensity 920 phone from Realme. So, it’s still not clear if the Narzo 60 Pro 5G, which will replace it, will have the Dimensity 1080.

In related news, Realme is likely to launch the Realme 10 as early as October. Apart from India, it is also expected to be released in some other Asian markets like Thailand and Indonesia. The handset has also been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking site.

The device is expected to come equipped with the Helio G99 chipset and 8 GB of RAM. It may come with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
