Back in March this year, Vivo announced the Vivo S9 smartphone in the Chinese market which became the first smartphone in the world to be powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset.
Now, a new rumor from Weibo has suggested that the company will soon be unveiling the next-generation’s S series smartphones to take on the upcoming OPPO’s Reno6 series devices. Furthermore, it was also mentioned that the new Vivo X70 series is likely to be launched slightly later.
Although there isn’t any information pertaining to the specs of this upcoming S series smartphone, but it’s higher-end model is likely to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1xxx or a Snapdragon 870 chipsets.
As a quick recap, the Vivo S9 flaunts a 6.44-inches AMOLED display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution and HDR10+ support. On top of that, it also carries support for 90Hz refresh rate and has a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio that promises an immersive graphical experience for its users.
In the camera department, the new Vivo S9 features a triple-camera system lead by a 64 megapixels primary shooter alongside an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens and a 2 megapixels macro camera. Upfront, there’s also a dual-selfie cameras consisting of a 44 megapixels primary shooter as well as an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens.
At the helm, the device is backed by a 4,000mAh batter which carries 33W flash charging support. On the software-side, it’ll be shipped with the latest OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11. Aside from that, other notable features also include its support for NFC connectivity as well as the presence on an in-display fingerprint scanner.
