The Nokia 8.3 5G that was announced in March is the company’s 5G-ready smartphone. Fresh information reveals that HMD Global is working on a new smartphone powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8XX SoC. Unfortunately, the name of the device is not known yet.
Recent reports have revealed that the Nokia 7.3 5G smartphone will be debuting in Q3 this year. The handset is expected to arrive in 5G and non-5G versions. The Nokia 7.3 is said to be powered by a Snapdragon SoC.
The report states that the Nokia 7.3 is unlikely to be rumored Dimensity 8XX powered handset. The Finnish firm is expected to hold a huge launch event in Q3 or Q4 this year. It will be used as a platform to announce many new phones such as Nokia 9.3 PureView, Nokia 7.3, and Nokia 6.3. The Dimensity powered phone from Nokia will not be a part of this launch event.
The Dimensity 8XX Nokia phone is expected to arrive early next year. There is a possibility it could be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2021 in February this year.
As far as upcoming Nokia phones are concerned, the Nokia 6.3 is speculated to be powered by Snapdragon 730G SoC. The Nokia 7.3 is rumored to be powered by Snapdragon 7XX SoC with 5G support. The Snapdragon 865 mobile platform is likely to drive the Nokia 9.3 PureView 5G.
