HMD Global had recently launched the Nokia 8 Sirocco smartphone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018. It is an improved edition of the Nokia 8 flagship from last year. It comes with a refreshing new 18:9 aspect ratio display but features the same Snapdragon 835 chipset. Fresh information reveals that HMD Global will be launching two Snapdragon 845 chipset driven flagship phones this year. The Nokia 8 Pro will be a cheaper flagship while the Nokia 9 will be arriving as a premium model.
The Nokia 9 will be equipped with a 5.7-inch display. The source says it could be the first phone from HMD Global to arrive with in-screen fingerprint scanner. Compared to Nokia 8 Pro, it may feature more amount of RAM and storage. Also, one of its bestselling features could be the penta-lens camera setup. Other reports have claimed that it will be coming with a dual edge curved screen. Hence, the Nokia 9 is rumored to break cover as a premium offering that will be taking on the likes of Samsung Galaxy S9+. It is speculated to get official in September this year.
The Nokia 8 Pro might arrive with a 5.5-inch display. It is likely to arrive as a cheaper flagship that will be taking on the rivaling products like OnePlus 5T and Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. It is expected to get unveiled in August this year.
