Nokia 9.2 PureView with Snapdragon 865 Coming in Late 2020

The Nokia 9 PureView debuted as the world’s smartphone with five rear cameras at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) tech exhibition last year. The only major gripe with the phone was that it had arrived with the older Snapdragon 845. Few months after the launch of the smartphone, the rumor mill had claimed that the company was working on Snapdragon 855 powered Nokia 9.1 PureView. In October, it was reported that the launch date of the smartphone was pushed to Q2 2020. Nokia Anew Twitter that has fairly good record on leaking accurate details on forthcoming Nokia phones has claimed that the Nokia 9.2 PureView with Snapdragon 865 mobile platform will be debuting in late 2020.

Instead of calling the device Nokia 9.1 PureView, the leak calls Nokia 9.2 PureView. The reason behind the delayed arrival of the phone is that the company wants to fuel it with the more powerful Snapdragon 865 chipset. It could be the first 5G-ready flagship phone from the company.

With the news of delayed arrival of Nokia 9.2 PureView, it appears that HMD Global won’t be launching a flagship phone at the Mobile World Congress (WMC) 2020 next month. After it will be achieving a milestone of announcing its 5G-ready phone.

The Finnish firm had confirmed in December that it will be unveiling Snapdragon 765 powered smartphone at MWC 2020. It will be a 5G phone with impressive camera prowess. The device will be equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint reader. There is no word on the actual name of the smartphone.
