Nubia Alpha Wearable Phone Unveiled at MWC 2019

Nubia has officially announced the Nubia Alpha smartwatch. The device is equipped with a flexible display and a camera. It also features phone calling function. Hence, the device can be easily dubbed as wearable phone.

The Nubia Alpha is fitted with a flexible OLED screen of 4 inches that produces 960 x 192 pixels. The screen delivers an aspect ratio of 36:9. The company claims that the flexible display of the Alpha smartwatch is so durable that it can remain undamaged even after bending 100,000 times.

The Snapdragon 2100 chipset that was announced in 2016 powers the Nubia Alpha smartwatch. The SoC is supported by 1 GB of RAM. For storage, it comes with an internal storage of 8 GB. It is loaded with a forked version of Android OS. The smartwatch is packed with a 500mAh battery.

The Nubia Alpha smartwatch carries support for fitness tracking, sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring. The smartwatch features a 5-megapixel camera.

The Nubia Alpha comes in Bluetooth-only and eSIM. The latter carries support for phone calling apart from fast web browsing. The Bluetooth-only edition will be available for purchase from April in Europe and North America. It will be available with a price tag of 449 euros By the third quarter, the eSIM edition will go on sale the aforementioned markets with a cost of 549 euros. There is an 18k gold edition of the eSIM edition that costs 640 euros.
