Nubia Red Magic 5G Phone Likely to Come with LPDDR5 RAM and 16GB RAM

The Nubia Red Magic 5G phone is expected to go official soon. However, the Chinese firm is still busy teasing on its features. The handset may break cover later this month since its rival Black Shark 3 is also expected to go official this month. Last week, the company teased the 80W wired charging technology. It is unclear whether the phone will be arriving with 80W fast charging support as it had appeared on the database of 3C with a 55W rapid charging. Today, Nubia President Ni Fei took to Weibo to hint the inclusion of LPDDR5 and 16GB of RAM on the upcoming Red Magic 5G phone.

As it can be seen in the above screenshot, the Fei has confirmed that the Red Magic 5G phone has LPDDR5 RAM. And he is asking whether it is necessary to have a 16 GB RAM version of the phone. Recent reports have revealed some of the upcoming smartphones such as Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G and Black Shark 3 will be coming with 16 GB of RAM.

So far, it is known that the model number of the next Red Magic 5G phone is NX659J. Unfortunately, the name of the device is currently under the wraps. This 5G flagship gaming phone will draw power from the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform.

The Nubia Red Magic 5G phone will be equipped with a 144Hz refresh rate screen. The handset will be sporting a triple camera setup on its back. The rest of the specs are not known yet. It could be backed by a 5,000mAh capacity like the predecessor model.

Chinese smartphone makers that had planned the launch of their smartphones in February have reportedly plan to hold online-only unveil event due to the Coronavirus outbreak in China. It remains to be seen whether the Red Magic 5G phone will be also announced online.
