Transparent smartphone design was first popularize by the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition, and was seen once again in the Mi 9 Explorer Edition. Since then, we have yet to see another smartphone with such unique back panel design.
However, things are about to change. Nubia has confirmed that the upcoming Red Magic 5G will arrive with a Transparent Edition model which makes the top-halve portion of the internals visible to the naked eyes.
In fact, from the short teaser released by the company, it actually revealed that the cooling fan within the device is also visible from the back panel. That’s definitely a first of it’s kind among all gaming smartphones we’d seen in the market.
Of course, the list of cool features aren’t gonna stop there. So far, the Red Magic 5G is the top performer on AnTuTu with a record-breaking score of 633,724 points. The device is driven by the Snapdragon 865 SoC and will utilize the latest LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 flash storage under the hood.
Besides that, it will also be the first gaming flagship to arrive with a buttery-smooth 144Hz screen refresh rate. Bear in mind, the Black Shark 3 and iQOO 3 5G could only support up to 90Hz and 120Hz refresh rates respectively.
Earlier today, Nubia had also confirmed that the Red Magic 5G will be able to support up to 55W fast-charging as well. The company claimed that the “Air-cooled turbine” (Google translate) fast-charging technology employed by the Red Magic 5G will in fact, charges faster than other 55W fast-charging technologies.
If nothing goes wrong, the Red Magic 5G will go official on March 12th next week.
