Nubia Red Magic 5s launched with 144Hz refresh rate & the latest Snapdragon 865+ SoC

Following the launch of the Nubia Red Magic 5G back in March this year, Nubia is now back with an upgraded model known as the Red Magic 5S which had made its official debut in the Chinese market.

In terms of designs and specs, the Red Magic 5S doesn’t differentiate itself much from the Red Magic 5G. Some of the more notable differences between the two smartphones include its underlying processor, whereby the newly announced Red Magic 5S is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 865+ SoC.

Other than that, the Red Magic 5S also has an improved cooling system which will be featuring a new silver-plated cooling pad dubbed as ICE Ag. This will be implemented alongside the same 15,000 RPM built-in fan to keep the device cool during intensive gaming.

Upfront, the Red Magic 5S arrives with a 6.65-inches FHD+ AMOLED display which has a buttery-smooth 144GHz screen refresh rate as well as an impressive touch sampling rate of 240Hz. This will be doubled up by a set of capacitive shoulder buttons with 320Hz sampling rate which could be customized for use during game plays.

At the helm, the Red Magic 5S comes with a hefty 16GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. As usual, it will be utilizing the ultra-fast LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage for a smooth gaming experience.

For photography, the device also has a triple-camera setup at the back comprising of a 64 megapixels main shooter, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels macro lens. This will be paired with an 8 megapixels selfie camera at the front.

To keep its light on, the Red Magic 3 is fueled by a hefty 4,500mAh battery which supports up to 55W fast-charging that could bring the device from 0 to 100% within a short span of just 40 minutes.

Coming to its pricing, the Nubia Red Magic 3 will be priced at 3,799 Yuan (US$542), 4,399 Yuan (US$628) and 4,99 Yuan (US$715) respectively for its 8GB+128GB, 12GB+256GB and 16GB+256GB models.
