Honor recently announced a mid-range tablet dubbed as the Honor Pad 8 which was available only in it’s domestic market. Right now, the company finally has a new tablet in store for the global market – Honor X8 Lite – which is targeted more towards the budget segment with affordability taking the front seat.
It comes with a large 9.7” IPS LCD display which builds around a 16:10 aspect ratio, offering a FHD+ screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh rate. One of the main selling point here is perhaps it’s ultra-portable design which sports a slim profile of just 7.55mm and weighs merely 460 grams.
For imaging, it’ll be handled by a 5 megapixels rear snapper, while selfies and video conferencing will be taken care by a 2 megapixels front-facing camera which sits along the upper bezel (when the slate is held horizontally).
Under the hood, the Honor X8 Lite is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 chipset which will be paired with up to 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage which supports further expansion via a microSD card.
To provide users with a more immersive entertainment experience, the slate is also backed by a pair of large-cavity speakers which can be further enhanced with Honor’s Histen sound effects, allowing users to enjoy three-dimensional sound with thicker bass.
To keep it’s lights on, the slate is equipped with a modest 5,100mAh battery which doesn’t appears to support any form of fast-charging solution. Software-wise, it’ll be shipped with the latest Magic UI 6.1 out of the box.
Currently, the Honor X8 Lite is launched only in a single Neo Mint colorway. Sad to say, the official pricing and availability still remain under the wraps at the time of writing.
