Official: Motorola Moto G42 debuts with Snapdragon 680, 50MP triple-cameras & 20W fast-charging

Motorola has officially unveiled a new budget-centric smartphone in the Indian market known as the Motorola Moto G42 which arrives with a successor to the Europe-bound Moto G41. Available in both Atlantic Green and Metallic Rosé colorways, the Moto G42 smartphone is priced at just INR 13,999 ($177).

Motorola Moto G42 Color Options

For starter, the Motorola Moto G42 features a 6.4” AMOLED display offering a FHD+ screen resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, as well as a 20:9 tall aspect ratio. To help with selfies and video calls, the Moto G42 also comes with a 16 megapixels front-facing camera tucked into a centered punch-hole cutout.

Around the back of the phone, the Moto G42 flaunts a rectangular-shaped camera module which houses a triple-camera array lead by a 50 megapixels main camera along with an 8 megapixels ultra-wide and 2 megapixels macro unit.

Under the hood, the phone will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 680 chipset which will be paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card. The device, as usual, will be shipped with the custom My UX based on Android 12 OS.

Keeping it’s lights on is a respectable 5,000mAh battery that comes with 20W TurboPower fast-charging support. Some other highlights of the phone also include the presence of a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC support.
