Dutch electronics giant Philips has unveiled a new entry-level smartphone dubbed as the Xenium S706 that comes with a tiny secondary display at the back which can be used to show date and time.
The new Philips Xenium S706 has a 6.82” TFT display featuring a HD+ screen resolution, 60Hz refresh rate as well as an 8 megapixels front-facing camera to help with selfies and video calls.
Apart from the secondary display, the back of the phone also sports a triple-cam system lead by a 16 megapixels main camera as well as a pair of 12 megapixels and 0.3 megapixels auxiliary cameras.
Under the hood, the Philips Xenium S706 is powered by an unspecified octa-core chipset which has a maximum clock speed of 2.0GHz. Likewise, it also features 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card.
Keeping it’s lights on is a respectable 5,500mAh battery which promises long hours of battery life. Other than that, it also features a 3.5mm headphone jack that brings support for wired earphone.
For those who’re interested, the Philips Xenium S706 is available in three different colorways such as Blue, Black and White. As of now, the company has yet to announce the official pricing and availability of the smartphone.
