Samsung announced the Galaxy S22 series of smartphones on Feb. 9. Several reports have claimed that the Galaxy S23 series launch event will be held earlier than before this year. Today, the company confirmed that its next launch event will be held on Feb. 1.
The Galaxy S23 series will be announced at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. It is unclear which other products will debut alongside the S23 lineup. The S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra will be succeeded by the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. The company is yet to reveal the key features of the S23 trio.
A few promotional videos for the Galaxy S23 series have recently surfaced. The leaked video as well as the above-shown poster tease the camera capabilities of the S23. It seems that the S23 lineup will offer a stellar photography experience in low-light conditions.
Reports have claimed that the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus will have the same 50-megapixel triple camera unit. The Galaxy S23 Ultra will have a brand new 200-megapixel primary camera, which has not been seen on any of the 200-megapixel camera phones released so far. It is expected to have the same ultra-wide, telephoto, and periscope zoom cameras that were seen on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. All three phones are said to feature a new 12-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. None of the markets will receive the Exynos variant of the S23 series.
