Official: Tecno POVA Neo 2 debuts with MediaTek Helio G85 chipset & large 7,000mAh battery

Chinese electronics giant Tecno has announced a new entry-level smartphone known as the Tecno POVA Neo 2 smartphone which will be succeeding last year’s POVA Neo (4G) in the global market. The new model comes with a refreshed design along with some other upgrades including an improved chipset under the hood.

On the rear side of the phone, the POVA Neo 2 sports a dual-camera array lead by a 16 megapixels main camera which will be supplemented by a 2 megapixels depth sensing unit that helps with portrait shots. Other than that, it also has a LED flash which will come in handy when snapping photos in low-light environment.

Unlike last year’s POVA Neo which was powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 chipset, the latest model features a slightly upgraded Helio G85 chipset which delivers better raw performance for mobile gaming. This will be paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage which can be further expanded by up to 512GB via a microSD card.

Keeping it’s lights on is a respectable 7,000mAh battery which carries support for 18W fast wired charging. Other than that, it also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack onboard. As usual, the phone will also be shipped with HiOS based on Android 12 OS out of the box.

Those who’re interested can pick the phone from three different colorways such as Light Gray, Blue and Orange. It will be priced starting from just 11,900 RUB ($205) in the Russian market.
