When Vivo launches the X80 series smartphones back in April this year, the Pro+ model was strangely omitted from the lineup even though it was one of the most popular model within the X series lineup for the past couple of years. But due to strong interest among Vivo fans, the company has finally decided to bring back the Pro+ model for the new X90 series smartphones which debut in the Chinese market yesterday.
The Vivo X90 Pro+ has many first to it’s name. Not only is it the first smartphone to be launched with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, it’s also the first non-Google smartphone to be shipped with Android 13 OS out of the box. Without further ado, let’s check out what the new device have in store for us!
The Vivo X90 Pro+ comes with a 6.78” LTPO4 AMOLED display upfront featuring an ultra-sharp QHD+ screen resolution along with a fast 120Hz refresh rate. Other than that, it also brings support for 10-bit color depth, 1,800 nits peak brightness as well as Dolby Vision.
For photography, the Vivo X90 Pro+ features a groundbreaking quad-camera system co-engineered with camera specialist Zeiss. This will be accompanied by a 48 megapixels Sony IMX598 ultra-wide camera as well as a 50 megapixels Sony IMX758 portrait camera and a 64 megapixels periscope camera with 90mm focal length that’s able to achieve 3.5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
The camera system will also be backed by the new Vivo V2 ISP (Image Signal Processor) which promises unparalleled computing power capacity, power density and data density. This is an important aspect of the camera system which not only helps to enhance image quality, but also plays a significant role in minimizing image noise.
Under the hood, the Vivo X90 Pro+ is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform which will be paired with 12GB RAM as well as an option between 256GB or 512GB built-in storage which is based on the new UFS 4.0 technology that’s capable of delivering a sequential read and write speeds of up to 4200MB/s and 2800MB/s respectively.
