OnePlus has officially confirmed details about the displays of their upcoming OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Ace 3, which are expected to be named OnePlus 12R in India. Today, the brand collaborated with a China-based display maker named BOE to announce the X-series displays codenamed “Oriental Screen”, which will be available on the OnePlus 12 and Ace 3. Here are the official details that the company has confirmed.
OnePlus confirmed that the OnePlus 12’s BOE X1 display supports a 2K resolution and has six significant technological advancements, nine global firsts, and twelve global premieres. This screen, the first domestic 2K display to receive Display Mate A+, has broken 18 records.
It is likely to be the world’s brightest 2K screen, offer strong eye protection, and have an extended screen life. Speculations surrounding it have claimed that it may offer over 3,000 nits of brightness.
The OnePlus Ace 3 is also confirmed to feature BOE’s Oriental Screen, which offers a 1.5K resolution. Official images suggest that both the OnePlus 12 and Ace 3 will have displays with a punch-hole design and curved edges. It is speculated that the Ace 3’s display will also be inherited by other Ace models, such as the Ace 3V and Ace 3 Pro, arriving in 2024 in China.
The OnePlus 12 is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, whereas the Ace 3 may arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 onboard. It is probable that the OnePlus 12 and the Ace 3 will be introduced in China in November. Other reports have claimed both smartphones will debut globally in January 2024.
