OnePlus recently unveiled its latest flagship phone, the OnePlus 12, in the Chinese market. The company has officially acknowledged its plans to introduce the OnePlus Ace 3 in the same market, although the specific launch date remains unconfirmed. A recent leak from tipster Digital Chat Station, however, has disclosed the anticipated launch date for the OnePlus Ace 3.
According to the leaker, the OnePlus Ace 3 will be announced on Jan. 4 in China. While the OnePlus 12 is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the Ace 3 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
The company has already confirmed that it will feature a BOE-supplied curved-edge OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. As per other reports, it will offer a screen size of 6.78 inches. The device is expected to run on ColorOS 14-based Android 14.
The device may ship with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It is likely to pack a 5,500mAh battery with 100W charging support. For selfies, the Ace 3 will feature a 16-megapixel front camera, and its back panel will house a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
In the Chinese market, the OnePlus Ace 3 will rival the likes of the Redmi K70, and some of the upcoming phones, such as the iQOO Neo 9, the Honor 90 GT, and the Realme GT Neo 6. All these smartphones are equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The Ace 3 is expected to arrive in shades, such as grey, pink, and blue.
Reports have revealed that the Ace 3 will be rebadged as the OnePlus 12R in the global market. The 12R will be announced with the OnePlus 12 on Jan. 23.
