After launching the OnePlus Ace smartphone last month, OnePlus is now back to the smartphone scene with the brand new OnePlus Ace Racing Edition that comes with a more affordable launch price – at the expense of some minor downgrades such as a slower charging speed.
The new model comes with a 6.59” LCD display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution alongside a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The April-launched OnePlus Ace in comparison, features a larger 6.7” display which adopts a comparatively more expensive AMOLED panel.
In the imaging department, the total camera counts of the phone remain unchanged. It has three cameras at the back that include a 64 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera, as well as a 2 megapixels macro camera for close-up photography. As for selfies and video calls, the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition also has a 16MP front-facing camera to help with that.
Under the hood, the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chipset which will be paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB built-in storage in the memory department. Also, the device features various technologies such as HyperBoost to ensure a smooth entertainment experience by keeping a consistent frame rate when gaming.
To keep it’s lights on, the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is backed by a respectable 5,000mAh battery which carries support for 67W fast-charging that’s capable of refilling a completely flat battery from 0 to 80% in just 29 minutes. It’s not as quick as it’s OnePlus Ace counterpart in this aspect, but is still faster than most other devices within the same price range.
Those who’re interested in the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition can pick the phone from two different colors such as Gray and Blue. In terms of pricing, the device is priced starting at 1,999 Yuan (US$297) for it’s 8GB+128GB trim and goes up to 2,499 Yuan (US$370) for it’s top-of-the-line model featuring a 12GB+256GB configuration.
