Following the launch of the OnePlus 9 flagship series earlier this year, the company is now prepping on a number of Nord series smartphones including the OnePlus Nord CE 5G and Nord N200 5G.
However, apart from these upcoming devices, a new rumor out of China has also suggested that OnePlus is currently working on a new smartphone which will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. If that’s the case, this device will actually be the first non-Snapdragon smartphone launched by the company till date.
Taking things further, it was also revealed that this upcoming device will be arriving with a flat display upfront which dons a hole-punch design and a decent screen-to-body ratio. On the imaging front, the phone is tipped to be equipped with a triple-camera setup lead by a 50 megapixels Sony IMX766 sensor alongside two auxiliary cameras.
In terms of pricing, this device could carry a starting price of around 2,000 Yuan (US$313) in it’s home market. As such, the phone is likely to provide tough competition against other Dimensity 1200-powered smartphones in the market like the OPPO Reno6 Pro and the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition.
