India: OnePlus Nord 2T 5G debuts with MediaTek Dimensity 1300 & 80W fast-charging

After weeks of anticipation, OnePlus has finally announced the Nord 2T smartphone in the Indian market. Available in both Jade Fog and Gray Shadow colorways, the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G is the first smartphone in the market to be powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 1300 mobile platform which can be seen as a decent upgrade over the Dimensity 1200 chipset used in last year’s Nord 2.

Although we do see some significant upgrade to the core of the phone, the front display remains largely unchanged (from the OnePlus Nord 2) with the same 6.43” AMOLED display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution topped with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Other than that, it also retains the same 32MP front-facing camera that handles selfies and video calls on the device.

In fact, the similarities between the two devices extend to the triple-camera array lead by a 50 megapixels Sony IMX766 main camera along with a pair of 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera and a 2 megapixels monochrome lens. Nonetheless, the two devices can be easily differentiated from the design of their rear camera module which had received a significant facelift from the company this time round.

Besides featuring the new MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset, the OnePlus Nord 2T is also equipped with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB built-in storage in the memory department. To keep it’s lights on, the phone is backed by a respectable 4,500mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast-charging support.

Coming to the software side of things, the OnePlus Nord 2T will ship with the latest OxygenOS 12.1 based on Android 12 OS right off the box. Those who’re interested in the phone can purchase the device at INR 28,999 ($365) for it’s 8GB+128GB trim and INR 33,999 ($430) for it’s top-of-the-line model featuring a bumped up 12GB+256GB configuration.
