OnePlus Watch Confirmed to Arrive in Early 2021

Since 2015, OnePlus is rumored to launch a wearale device, but it has not come true yet. It was recently revealed by OnePlus CEO and co-founder Pete Lau that the company is working on a smartwatch. Yesterday, he took to Twitter the first OnePlus smartwatch will debut in early 2021.

In October, the company released a tweet that It is “only a matter of time” before it launches the highly awaited OnePlus Watch. The tweet had carried an image that revealed that the device could be equipped with a round-shaped display.

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, OnePlus was expected to launch a smartwatch in 2015. However, it seems that the company decided to cancel it that time in order to focus more on its smartphone business.

In a recent interview, Lau hinted that the OnePlus Watch could be equipped with WearOS by Google. It is speculated that the company decided on using WearOS since it could be seamlessly linked with the Android TV and phones by OnePlus. There is no information on the specs of the OnePlus Watch. It remains to be seen whether it is powered by the Snapdragon 4100 chipset.

OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 9 series in mid-March next year. It is speculated that the lineup includes three phones such as the OnePlus 9E, OnePlus 9, and OnePlus 9 Pro. It is unclear whether the OnePlus Watch will go official alongside or before the OnePlus 9 series.
