OPPO Find N overwhelmed by domestic demand; faces shortage in the Chinese market

OPPO’s first-ever foldable smartphone – OPPO Find N – was a huge success in it’s domestic market with all available units getting sold out during it’s debut sale in China. Now, the company’s president (for OPPO China) Liu Bo has revealed on his Weibo handle that the brand is currently facing supply shortage due to the overwhelming demand that exceeded it’s initial initial forecast.

Adding on, he also came forward to explain some reasons for the OPPO Find N’s success in the Chinese market. Some of the most prominent reasons include it’s stellar design with an amical form factor, absence of crease on it’s inner display as well as it’s affordable launch price which makes the phone more accessible to mainstream consumers.

Despite it’s success in the Chinese market, OPPO had previously confirmed that the OPPO Find N will not be heading to the global market as the company probably intend to use the debut model as a platform to gauge consumer interest, before it launches the first foldable in the global market.

OPPO Find N Specifications

As a recap, the new OPPO Find N OPPO Find N adopts an inward-folding design which features a 5.49” external display that comes with a more user-friendly 18:9 aspect ratio. The display itself utilizes an AMOLED panel with FHD+ screen resolution and a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus for extra durability.

Unfolding the phone would lead us to a 7.1” inner display with a 8.4:9 landscape aspect ratio that allows users to experience a tablet-like experience on the device. For this display, it switched to a LTPO AMOLED panel which has a comparatively smoother 120Hz adaptive refresh rate that automatically adapts the refresh rate based on the onscreen contents.

Coming to the imaging side of things, the OPPO Find N also packs a capable triple-cam system lead by a 50 MP Sony IMX766 main camera along with a 16 megapixels ultra-wide camera and a 13 megapixels telephoto camera that supports 2x optical zoom. For selfie, there’s also a 32 megapixels camera on both it’s outer and inner displays.

Under the hood, the OPPO Find N is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset alongside 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 flash storage in the memory department. Similarly, it’ll also be backed by a respectable 4,500mAh battery which carries support for 33W SuperVOOC fast-wired charging and 15W AirVOOC wireless charging.
