The Oppo R17 was introduced earlier this week. The handset is now listed with key features on the official website in China. However, the company is yet to confirm on the features of R17 Pro. Rumors surrounding the R17 Pro suggest that it may feature the same specs as R17 but may come with advanced camera capabilities. OPPO is known for beginning the pre-sales of its smartphones before holding a launch event. The company has applied the same strategy for the OPPO R17 and R17 Pro as it will be starting with pre-orders of these phones from Aug. 18. Today, Oppo has confirmed that a dedicated launch event for R17 duo phones will be held on Aug. 23 in Shanghai.
The OPPO R17 features a 6.4-inch display that features a drop-like notch. The screen of the phone is embedded with under-display fingerprint reader. The Snapdragon 670 is present under the hood of the device. The SoC is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM. It has an internal storage of 128 GB. For shooting selfies, it is equipped with AI powered 25-megapixel camera at it front. The back panel of the phone houses 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. It receives power from 3,500mAh battery.
As stated above, OPPO R17 Pro will be coming with some advanced cameras. The company has already confirmed that it will be equipped with variable aperture between f/1.5 and f/2.4. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has also revealed that Optical Image Stabilization. These features are unlikely to be present on the R17 as it is expected to only feature AI driven regular dual camera.
