OPPO Reno3 and Reno3 Pro goes official with 5G connectivity & 90Hz display

After weeks of intense teasing campaign, OPPO has finally announced the feverishly-anticipated Reno3 and Reno3 Pro duo through a high-profile launch event in China.

Compared to it’s Reno2 predecessor, the latest Reno3 lineup boast significant improvements in terms of connectivity, camera and battery.

One of it’s main highlight of the Reno3 line is the new innovative 360 degrees antennas design which helps to ensure optimal connectivity for the users regardless how the device was held.

Similar to the upcoming Realme X50, the Reno3 smartphones are also able to support concurrent 5G and Wi-Fi connections to boost it’s network stability and download speed.

However, it will not be coming with the signature shark fin-styled, pop-up camera this time round.

OPPO Reno3 Specifications

The OPPO Reno3 features a 6.44” AMOLED flat display with FHD+ screen resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. It has a slim profile measuring less than 8mm (excluding the lens) and weighs approximately 181g.

The OPPO Reno3 is driven by the latest Mediatek’s Dimensity 1000L SoC which comes with an integrated 5G modem capable of supporting both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes. Under it’s memory compartment, there will be up to 12GB worth of RAM and 128GB onboard storage space.

On the rear side, there is a quad-camera setup which comprises of a 64 megapixels main snapper, an 8 megapixels ultra wide lens, a 2 megapixels macro lens, as well as a 2 megapixels monochrome sensor. Similarly, there is also a 32 megapixels sensor housed in the water drop-notch of the front panel.

Last but not the least, there will also be a 4,025mAh battery which supports the latest VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge technology.

OPPO Reno3 Pro Specifications

In terms of display, the Reno3 Pro will be featuring a 6.5-inch AMOLED curved display which has a similar FHD+ screen resolution as well as 90Hz refresh rate. The device weighs slightly lesser at just 171g.

Under the hood, the Reno3 Pro is driven by the latest octa-core Snapdragon 765G SoC that also support both SA and NSA 5G modes. It has up to 12GB of RAM and as much as 256GB onboard storage space.

Moving on to it’s camera, there will be a quad-camera setup on it’s rear chassis which comprises of a 48 megapixels (Sony IMX586) main snapper, 13 megapixels telephoto lens, 8 megapixels ultra wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels monochrome sensor. It will be maintaining a 32 megapixels sensor for its selfie camera as well.

The same 4,025mAh battery with VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge support will be available for the Reno3 Pro. The company’s proprietary ColorOS 7 will run atop the latest Android 10 OS.

OPPO Reno3 & Reno3 Pro Pricing

The OPPO Reno3 will be available in both 8GB+128GB and 12GB+128GB memory configurations which are priced at 3,399 Yuan (US$486) and 3,699 (US$529) Yuan respectively.

As for the Reno3 Pro, it will comes in two flavors including 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB. Pricing for the respective models are 3,999 Yuan (US$571) and 4,499 Yuan (US$643).

So far, there are no words on their international availability. However, both devices will go on sale in China starting December 31st.
