In November, MediaTek had unveiled the Dimensity 1000 5G chipset. The SoC is expected to power forthcoming flagship phones from some Chinese smartphone OEMs. The model number of the chipset is MT6889. Recent reports have revealed that MT6885 is a 5G chipset for mid-range phones. The SoC hasn’t gone official yet. Rumor have claimed that the MT6885 SoC will be made official as Dimensity 1000L and the Reno3 could be first phone to feature it. The refreshed content on the landing page of the OPPO Reno3 series confirms that the Reno3 will be indeed powered by the Dimensity 1000L SoC.
The Reno3 that has a mode number of PDCM00 was spotted on AnTuTu recently with the MT6885Z SoC. It had revealed that the SoC that is equipped with Mali-G77 graphics scored 379,839 average benchmarking points on AnTuTu.
Recent reports have revealed that the Reno3 will come equipped with a waterdrop notch. The rear shell of the phone will have a vertical quad camera setup with a 64-megapixel main lens. The device is equipped with a 4,025mAh battery and its thickness is 7.96mm. The phone will come equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader.
The Reno3 will break cover alongside the Reno3 Pro smartphone. It is speculated that the PCPM00 / PCPT00 smartphone that was recently spotted on TENAA with full specifications could be the 4G only edition of the Reno3. OPPO will be unleashing the Reno3 series of smartphones on Dec. 26.
