OPPO Reno5 and Reno5 Pro 5G Renders and Key Specs Appear as Reservations Begin

OPPO is expected to announce the Reno5 series of smartphones in China on Dec. 10. Ahead of the launch, the Reno5 and Reno5 Pro 5G phones are now up for reservations on Chinese retailer sites like JD.com and Tmall. The listings have the renders and the key specs of these smartphones.

The reservations listing of the OPPO Reno5 and Reno5 Pro show that both phones will be available in colors like Galaxy Dream (gradient white), Aurora Blue, and Moonlight Black. Both smartphones are available for reservations in two versions such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage.

The rear design of both phones is almost identical, but their front appearances are different. While both phones have punch-hole displays, the Reno5 has a flat screen whereas the Reno5 Pro’s display has curved edges. The Reno5 is said to be equipped with a 6.43-inch OLED screen, whereas the Reno5 Pro could be having a 6.55-inch OLED display.

The prices of the Reno5 and Reno5 Pro are not mentioned in the listing. However, speculations are rife that the Reno5 may start at 2,999 Yuan ($457) whereas the Reno5 Pro may begin at 3,799 Yuan ($579). The reservations listings show that both phones can be reserved until Dec. 10, which could be the launch date of the Reno5 series.

The Reno5 5G is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 765G and the Dimensity 1000+ could be fueling the Pro model. Both phones are expected to come with common specs like 90Hz FHD+ display, Sony IMX686 64-megapixel quad cameras, and 32-megapixel front cameras. The Reno5 and Reno5 Pro phone may house 4,300mAh and 4,350mAh batteries, respectively. Both phones are expected to support 65W fast charging.

The Reno5 series reportedly includes Snapdragon 865 SoC powered Reno5 Pro+. It is yet to appear for reservations on Chinese retailer sites.
