OPPO Reno5 moniker officially confirmed; launch could be nearing

Recently, the upcoming OPPO Reno5 smartphone was allegedly spotted on the Chinese TENAA listing. Right now, the Thai NBTC authority has officially confirmed on the “Reno5” moniker for a new OPPO smartphone which bears the model number CPH2159 in the global market.

Keeping in mind that the device had already been certified by various governing bodies, we can expect the device to break cover by the end of the year, just like the Vivo X60 and Nova 8 series smartphones.

Based on what we’d learned so far, the OPPO Reno5 is expected to arrive with a 6.43-inches FHD+ AMOLED display that will come with a hole-punch design to accommodate its 32 megapixels selfie camera.

At the back, there will be a rectangular camera housing with a quad camera system comprising of a 64 megapixels primary shooter, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels depth helper.

Although the actual identity of the underlying processor isn’t revealed, but it was listed on its TENAA database with an octa-core chip clocked at 2.4GHZ, and will feature up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage.

To keep its lights on, the device arrives with a 4,300mAh battery which is said to support 65W SuperVOOC 4.0 fast-charging similar to the OPPO Reno4 Pro (Review).
