After making it’s official debut last week, the OPPO Reno7 series smartphones finally went on sale in the Chinese market today. Quite expectedly, the devices were warmly received in it’s domestic market, with the company fetching 100 million yuan in revenue during the first 15 minutes of it’s debut sale.
Considering that the OPPO Reno7 5G and Reno7 Pro 5G were priced starting at 2,699 Yuan (US$423) and 3,699 Yuan (US$579) respectively, it could be deduced that the company had sold between 27,000 to 37,000 units during the short period of time.
The impressive sales figure however, doesn’t came much as a surprise since OPPO’s Reno series has always been among the most popular mid-range series in the Chinese market – and is increasingly so in the global market as well.
OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G
As a quick recap, the OPPO Reno7 Pro features a 6.55” AMOLED display which has a FHD+ screen resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, 99.94% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, as well as a peak brightness of up to 920 nits.
For selfie and video calls, it also has a 32 megapixels front-facing camera that sits within a hole-punch cutout on the upper-left corner of the screen. Also, let’s not forget that the phone comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner as well.
At the back, there’s a redesigned camera island which houses a total of three different cameras consisting of a 50 megapixels Sony IMX766 main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera, as well as a 2 megapixels macro camera for close-up photography.
Under the hood, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is powered by a custom MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Max chipset which will be paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department. As usual, there’s no support of microSD card for storage expansion on the Reno7 Pro 5G.
Keeping it’s lights on is none other than a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery which carries support for 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charging. On the software side of things, we can expect the phone to run on the company’s in-house ColorOS 12 based on Android 11 out of the box.
For those who’re interested, the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G is available in a trio of colors including Blue, Black and Gold. In terms of pricing, it’ll set you back by 3,699 Yuan (US$579) and 3,999 Yuan (US$626) respectively for it’s 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB models.
OPPO Reno7 5G
Moving on to the OPPO Reno7 5G, this model comes with a slightly smaller 6.44” OLED display but retains the same FHD+ screen resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, in-display fingerprint scanner as well as the 32MP front-facing camera.
On the flipside, the OPPO Reno7 5G also comes with a total of three cameras. However, it swaps the high-end 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for a 64MP OmniVision OV64B imaging sensor that’s used among mid-range models. This will be accompanied by the same 8MP ultra-wide unit and 2MP macro camera that we saw on the Reno7 Pro 5G.
Moving on, the OPPO Reno7 5G is also helmed by a toned-down Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset along with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department. Likewise, it’ll feature a 4,500mAh battery which has a slightly slower charging speed of 60W.
Just like the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G, the vanilla model is also available in three different colors such as Blue, Black and Gold. The device will be priced at 2,699 Yuan (US$423), 2,999 Yuan (US$470), 3,299 Yuan (US$517).
