OPPO’s reportedly working on the Reno8 series of smartphones. The rumor mill is yet to leak concrete information on the number of devices that will be present in the Reno8 family. It can be said based on the predecessor Reno7 series that the Reno8 lineup may include the Reno8, Reno8 Pro, and Reno8 Pro+. According to Digital Chat Station, the Reno8 series will feature a new Snapdragon chip. He has also tipped the entire specs of what appears to be the Reno8 smartphone.
The tipster has claimed that the Reno8 series will be equipped with the new Snapdragon 7 series chipset. Rumors have it that Qualcomm may announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset in May. Hence, it is likely that the Reno8 lineup could be the first phone to arrive with the SD7G1 chip onboard.
The tipster added that the Reno8 lineup will also feature a high-end Dimensity chipset and its own in-house MariSilicon X chip. There is a possibility that the Reno8 series may go official in May or June after the announcement of the SD7G1 chip.
OPPO Reno8 Specifications (Rumored)
The tipster has shared the specifications of an upcoming OPPO phone that has a PGAM10 model number. Since the device is powered by the SD7G1 chip, it could be the Reno8 handset. The leak reveals that it has a 6.55-inch OLED FHD+ 120Hz screen, SD7G1, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, a 32-megapixel front camera, a 50-megapixel (Sony IMX766) + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera unit, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and a 4,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.
As far as the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip is concerned, it is expected to arrive with 4 x Cortex-A710 cores clocking at 2.36GHz, 4 x Cortex-A510 cores working at 1.80GHz, and an Adreno 662 GPU. The 4nm chip is likely to be manufactured by Samsung.
