Poco F2 Pro Could be Rebranded Redmi K30 Pro

The POCO brand was resurrected this year as an independent entity this year. It unveiled the Poco X2 smartphone in February and the company is expected to announce some more devices in the near future. However, the most-awaited device from the company is the successor for the Poco F1 phone from 2018. Some reports have claimed the Redmi K30 Pro phone could be rebranded as Poco F2 in India. However, a Google Play listing has revealed some interesting information on the upcoming Poco flagship.

The list of Google Play certified devices that contains all the devices that support Google Mobile Services has some new entries for Poco devices. There is a new listing for Redmi K30 Pro with codename “Imi” and its model name is POCO F2 Pro. This indicates that the Redmi K30 Pro could be rebranded as Poco F2 Pro.

There is another listing for Redmi K30 Pro with “lmiin” codename where “in” suggests variant for India. Its model name is Redmi K30 Pro 5G. So, it appears that the Redmi K30 Pro 5G that debuted in China in the recent past may break cover with the same name in India. In other markets, it could be called Poco F2 Pro.

There is a listing for Redmi K30 with “liminpro” with Redmi K30 Pro 5G Zoom Edition. Hence, it appears that India could be receiving Redmi K30 and K30 Pro Zoom Edition in the near future. So, it would be interesting to see with what specs the highly awaited Poco F2 will be arriving with in India.

It is also important to remember that Poco India General Manager C Manmohan had claimed that Poco F2 will not be a rebadged version of Redmi K30 Pro in India. Hopefully, newer details arriving in the coming days will clear out the doubts surrounding the Poco F2 models.
