Several reports have claimed that POCO’s next flagship phone will be called the POCO F5. The device is likely to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K60, which debuted last week in China. Now, tipster Kacper Skrzypek has claimed that the Redmi K60’s global edition will be called the POCO F5 Pro, and not the POCO F5, as previous reports did.
Considering that the POCO F5 Pro could be a rebranded Redmi K60, it may arrive with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that offers a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. For security, it may feature an under-display fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood, the POCO F5 Pro may feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 mobile platform, up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone may come preloaded with the MIUI 13-flavored Android 13 OS.
The POCO F5 Pro may come equipped with a 5,500mAh battery that will support 67W fast charging. On the front, it may feature a 16-megapixel selfie camera, and its back may house a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.
Last year, POCO released the POCO F4, but there was no Pro version. Hence, there is a possibility that the company may only release the POCO F5 Pro, and its vanilla edition. Even tipster Skrzypek has no information on the existence of the POCO F5.
There is no word on the launch timeframe of the POCO F5 Pro. Since the POCO X5 series is expected to debut at least by February 2023, it is likely that the POCO F5 Pro may arrive by late Q1 or in Q2 2023.
