POCO M4 Pro goes official with an affordable pricing & impressive camera hardware

Besides launching the POCO X4 Pro 5G, POCO had also unveiled a more affordable, budget-centric smartphone known as the POCO M4 Pro. Despite it’s familiar moniker, the newly announced model is largely different from last year’s POCO M4 Pro 5G (Review).

POCO M4 Pro Color Options

The new POCO M4 Pro builds around a 6.43” AMOLED display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution supplemented by a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. On top of that, it also comes with up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness as well as an additional layer of Gorilla Glass 3 atop to protect the screen against accidental drops or scratches.

POCO M4 Pro Render

On the flipside, the POCO M4 Pro shares a rather similar rear design as the X4 Pro 5G except for some minor changes to it’s lens design. The three lenses at the back includes a 64 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide camera, as well as a 2 megapixels macro unit to help with close-up shots.

Unlike it’s 5G counterpart which was powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset, the POCO M4 Pro settles with a Helio G96 chipset instead. It’ll be paired with up to 8GB RAM (with Dynamic RAM Expansion Technology) and 256GB onboard storage which can still be further expanded via a microSD card.

As with most other POCO smartphones, the POCO M4 Pro is also blessed with a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support. The phone will be shipped with the new MIUI 13 based on Android 11 OS right off the box.

Pricing & Availability

For those who’re interested, the POCO X4 Pro is available in three different colorways such as Power Black, Cool Blue, and POCO Yellow. It’ll be available in both 6GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants which are priced at S$349 and S$399 respectively in Singapore.

Early birds who purchase the POCO X4 Pro 5G on March 3rd will get to enjoy a promotional price of S$299 and S$349 respectively through Shopee.
